NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

FOR MICHIGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)

FUNDING FOR MI NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAM:
HOMEOWNER REHABILITATION

Notice is hereby given that The Charter Township of Calumet will hold a public hearing
on March 27, 2026, at 1pm. The meeting will be held at the Charter Township of
Calumet office, 25880 Red Jacket Road, Calumet, MI 49913, for the purpose of
affording citizens an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed
application for a CDBG grant.

The Charter Township of Calumet proposes to use CDBG funds in the amount of
$400,000.00 for rehabilitation projects focused on improving the safety and energy
efficiency of the homes. The improvements could include weatherization, maintenance
and safety repair, roof replacement, insulation, windows, doors, heating systems, and
accessibility upgrades. All activities, upon completion, will benefit low-to moderate-
income households. No persons are expected to be displaced as a result of the
proposed activities; however, homeowners will be responsible for arranging and funding
their own temporary relocation if required to complete the repairs. The Charter Township
of Calumet has not administered prior CDBG funded grants to date, so no prior
performance data is available.
