On November 28, 2007, Calumet Township dedicated it's newly completed building at 12549 S. Ashland Ave. in Calumet Park to the service of it's residents. Ray Martino, Township Supervisor, welcomed over 150 residents and 25 dignitaries to the ribbon cutting ceremony. Ray told the audience, "This is one of the happiest days of my life, to be able to provide additional services to the residents of our area". Mayor Buster Porch also assisted in the ribbon cutting and pledged his support to this endeavor. He said, "This was a team effort and could not have been done without the help of many. Thanks to Ray and his board, we now have more services for our residents. They do not have to travel miles to be helped". After a brief tour of the new facility, Trustee Eve Bramlette read the formal resolution proclaiming this building a "public use facility". Following the ribbon cutting ceremony and presention, both residents and dignitaries were treated to ice cream and cake. Also commended for his exceptional help in making the new Medical Building a success, was State Representative and Calumet Township Trustee, Robert Rita. Rita was a main factor in obtaining the grants for the new building's completion. Some recent efforts of Robert Rita include receiving:

$100,00.00 free grant for completion of service building
